At OCC, championing diversity, equity, and inclusion is part of our #WeAreOCC value, and we take responsibility to help drive change and make an impact in the communities where we live and work. To achieve this, we:
- Seek to foster long-term relationships in the community that will increase access to education and employment opportunities for marginalized and disinvested communities
- Match colleague donations to selected nonprofits 1:1 to increase the impact OCC can have in the community.
- Encourage colleagues to volunteer in the community. We provide eight hours of paid time off annually to volunteer and offer a Community Outreach Ambassador program for colleagues to develop community leadership skills.
Chicago Scholars
OCC has selected Chicago Scholars as our nonprofit partner for 2022-2025. Chicago Scholars is the largest college access and success program in Chicago, serving more than 5,000 Scholars and alumni each year. Chicago Scholars are academically ambitious, first-generation college students from under-resourced communities in Chicago. This seven-year program helps them to navigate complex transitions into college, through college, and beyond to a career.
Scholarship Donations
In 2022, OCC partnered with our Employee Network Groups (ENGs) to donate $15,000 to scholarship programs across four nonprofit organizations. Learn more about the scholarship recipients here
Financial Services Pipeline
OCC is a member firm of the Financial Services Pipeline Initiative (FSP). The key goals of FSP are:
- Increasing the representation of Latinos and African-Americans, at all levels, within the Chicago area financial services industry.
- Improving the overall cultural competency within the Chicago area financial services industry.
