OCC Stories: Tricia Perl on the Power of Positive Leadership

Tricia Perl is part of the Investor Education team where she supports OCC through event planning and management. In her OCC story, she recalls how multiple senior leaders encouraged and empowered her growth and positively impacted her career. Read it below!

Tricia Perl – Principal, Corporate Meetings and Events – in OCC’s Chicago office.

   

Since joining OCC in 2017, I have had an amazing view of the work OCC does by working so closely with various teams.

I am proud to be a part of the Investor Education team. To educate investors on the responsible use of options, we’ve expanded our external presence as well as improved or added to many of our offerings. Our team has come together to create incredible and informative content.

I’m also blessed to support Human Resources in strengthening the bond between colleagues. HR works diligently to create an inclusive, accepting, and positive environment and to help colleagues celebrate each other’s culture and achievements.

When Julie Bauer, Chief External Relations Officer, and my manager Denise Knabjian began to lead Investor Education, they changed my career trajectory completely. They shared their knowledge and clearly expressed their purpose while encouraging me to expand my knowledge, to trust in myself, and to share my thoughts and ideas.

Thanks to leaders like these, I see how important culture and development is to OCC right from the top. I try to make sure that my role – planning our events – helps every colleague feel celebrated and reminded that we are OCC.
