Rita Varghese – Associate Principal, Market Operations – in OCC’s Dallas office.
Market Operations acts as the primary liaison for our participant exchanges. We must provide impeccable customer service to the exchanges – and we’re tremendously proud of our work when we know we’ve served them well. The culture at OCC and my team enable me to provide that high quality service.
Our Management Committee member, Mike Hansen, calls us a ‘well-oiled machine,’ and I’ve been able to play a large part in making sure we deliver. I have a mentor who encourages me to look for ways to improve processes and save time, leading me to work on several automation and dashboard projects that have brought tremendous value to multiple teams and upper management.
For example, one of the most exciting projects I’ve worked on was when the new MEMX Options exchange launched in 2023. For the first time, I was deeply involved in onboarding a new exchange, inspiring me to create an onboarding and offboarding checklist that streamlined our process.
Overall, I’m proud to be part of a high-performing team that delivers quality work every day. Here, I feel that people want me to succeed, and that’s the type of place where I can see myself grow and thrive. OCC’s culture is warm and welcoming, encouraging individuals to be transparent and vulnerable – as a result, my team works to quickly identify issues, fixing them before they become problems. Our team knows that to best support one another, we must tackle competing priorities together, which helps ensure we’re on track to deliver our new platform, Ovation, later this year.
