Priyanka Chib – Associate Principal, Third Part Risk Management - is part of the Corporate Risk Management team in OCC’s Chicago office.
I work in the Corporate Risk Management team at OCC, specifically Third Party Risk Management (TPRM). The team’s role is crucial because they collaborate with internal and external partners to safeguard OCC against third party risks, ensuring OCC can steadily provide its clearing, settlement, and risk management services.
I started at OCC as an intern in Business Continuity, which works closely with TPRM. In the summer of 2021, I was a graduate student searching for an internship that would aid my professional development and increase my risk management knowledge.
I saw a LinkedIn post from Clint Fransen about an internship in Business Continuity Planning, so I reached out to him and heard back almost immediately. In about a week, OCC interviewed and onboarded me into the team.
From the time I started as an intern, my team and everyone else at OCC provided me with many opportunities for growth. They encouraged me to speak my mind, take responsibility, and always be open to learning more. They also encouraged me to work on projects that exposed me to different departments at OCC.
This attitude and commitment to ongoing development motivated me to become a full-time employee in the Corporate Risk Management team. It also encouraged me to improve myself personally and professionally. I appreciate my team and everyone else at OCC for their unwavering support and encouragement.
