The culture at OCC is incredibly collegial and collaborative. Rather than each department operating as a separate silo, the various stakeholders work together well to ensure the best possible result. Getting folks to do this is fairly easy, as everyone is willing to pitch in to make sure we collectively achieve our goals.

As an example, OCC is undergoing a transformation that involves building a new platform called Ovation for clearing, risk management, and data. My team recently completed a project around OCC’s market data in collaboration with teams in Pricing & Margins and Data Risk Governance.

We worked together and met regularly to collect and document information related to OCC’s market data. The Pricing & Margins and Data Risk Governance teams also gave us helpful background on the different ways this information informs OCC’s various services. The end product was a new database with important context and details that our teams can reference going forward.
